With over 12 years’ experience working in the restaurant industry 33-year-old Jason Turton from Exeter decided to start his own business and launch Apple Blossom Café in the St. Thomas area with funding and support from SWIG Start Ups.
Apple Blossom Café offers everything from coffee and cake to hearty breakfasts and unique
lunches, the café has sought to stand out from other cafés in the area with its fresh, modern décor and price-conscious menu.
Jason said, “I’ve worked in many areas of hospitality, from fine dining and award-winning pubs to independent city-centre cafés and catering for events, but starting my own business has proved nothing compares to being your own boss.
“I’m in charge of my own future and you only get what you put in!”
Opening the café doors in July 2014, Jason accessed support and a £5,000 loan towards the cost of starting up from the government-backed Start Up Loan scheme from South West delivery partner, SWIG Start Ups. “The whole process was well worth the effort and I would recommend anyone who has a business idea to get in touch with them, they just be able to help you realise your dreams.”
Now he has officially launched the business Jason plans to continue to expand the customer base in the future and building an evening trade in the area.
