UnionProj CN

The Union Project, launched in November 2013 by first-time entrepreneurs Max Shaw and Chris Capewell in Queen’s Circus, Cheltenham has teamed up with Charlie Noble, another Cheltenham business.

An independent menswear store, The Union Project stocks a curated selection of the finest contemporary men’s fashion and sneakers in a space that reflects the pair’s strong commitment to quality products and service.

Charlie Noble, started by Luke Baghdadi, produces high quality bags, made with Scottish leather, backed with British weaved cotton and stitched in East London.

Inspired by Charlie Noble, a mid-19th century eccentric captain, Luke set out to capture his spirit, flair, and attention to detail with his products. Combining traditional British craftsmanship with stylish contemporary twists in design, Charlie Noble have produced a modest yet gorgeous range.

Both Charlie Noble and The Union Project were supported with a government-backed Start Up Loan from SWIG Start Ups with business support from Gloucestershire Enterprise as part of the scheme.

Luke said: “I was looking at the SWIG Start Ups Facebook page and I saw the Union Project case study. I gave them a call and we had a meeting. They really liked the Charlie Noble bags and were happy to stock them.

“Max and Chris are really great guys so we exchanged stories about starting up and financing and it’s great to be working with another start up business.”
