Simon Finch started Finch Installations earlier this year, handling shop-fits and specialist build services for the retail sector across the UK.
With previous experience as a bricklayer and a carpenter, setting up his own business had been a lifelong goal for Simon. “I felt that the time was right to set up my own business after having become disillusioned with years of sub-contracting. It proved to be the right decision as almost immediately I landed a presitigious contract with supermarket giant Sainsbury’s to fit our a string of its pharmacies.”
With no previous background in business, Simon joined the Ready for Business programme delivered by Business West, designed to support start-up business prepare for investment and confidence to apply for finance. With this support from Business West, Simon was successful in his application for a Start-Up Loan from SWIG Start-Ups.
Finch Installations has already exceeded all of its initial financial forecasts, is contracted to major retail giants and is supporting the local economy by already taking on 12 local tradesmen to join the workforce.
