A family-run nursery in Dorset is the latest business to benefit from the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme.

Twynham House Nursery School received the £100k CBILS loan, backed by Triodos Bank. The funding helps them continue to provide essential childcare for their local community. As well as this, the funding will help keep their growth plans on track. Furthermore, the loan has already helped to safeguard 14 full-time jobs.

The business is very much a family venture led by brother-and-sister Nikhil and Esha Kapila, whose parents Paul and Renu established their first successful nursery in a primary school annex in 1991. Nikhil and Esha are both qualified teachers with experience of working within a diverse range of education sectors. These include state and private schools, as well as special needs schools.

Having spent much of their younger years at their parents’ nursery, they are therefore perfectly positioned to spearhead the business.

Looking to the future, Nikhil and Esha plan to further develop a network of nurseries. Significantly, part of this plan will be to ensure that their ‘one-of-a-kind’ appeal is translated into each nursery.

Of the funding, one of the owners Esha Kapila commented “our experience using SWIG Finance was fantastic. Our business manager, Jordan, provided a high level of communication throughout the process, and he supported us with completing our documents as well”.

SWIG’s business manager, Jordan Berg, said “it was a real pleasure to support this family-led business. It is clear that the Kapilas have a genuine passion for providing early-years education and their services have been invaluable to their community during these challenging times”.

Matt Boggan, senior relationship manager at Triodos Bank UK, who provided a loan to SWIG to support funding such as this, added: “We’re proud to be supporting SWIG, alongside another likeminded organisations. Its aim to make finance more accessible and inclusive aligns closely with our own values, and we look forward to hearing more about the impact that SMEs like Twynham House Nursery have in the South West.”
