New Bristol business Rapid Fire Logistics has received a £25,000 Start Up Loan to support its market launch.

The loan, accessed through local not-for-profit organisation SWIG Finance, will help the business invest in cutting-edge technology that will be integrated to provide a worldwide logistics service, including sea- and airfreight solutions.

Rapid Fire Logistics

Rapid Fire Logistics was conceived by Craig Eddy, who has a background working in the logistics sector, including the Royal Mail where he worked his way through the ranks beginning his career as a postman and climbing his way up to regional Director of Collections.

Craig’s experience led him to spot a niche in the market for a well-managed and cost-effective end-to-end logistics service which provides everything from high-level B2B consultancy, all the way through to delivery of goods to customers.

The new venture is launching at a critical time as the disruption generated by Covid-19 means that cost- and time- efficient logistics are more important than ever. Rapid Fire Logistics not only helps customers to continue receiving essential goods, it also provides self-employed delivery drivers with regular work.

Craig says that the Start Up Loan has been crucial to getting the venture off the ground. “Being able to run my own business means that I can focus on making the right decisions for my customers, and that is really important to me”.

SWIG Finance Business Manager, Sarah Osborn, commented “Rapid Fire Logistics has entered the market just at the right time. In the current crisis, the logistics industry is playing an essential role in holding the economy together and Craig has put a lot of work into ensuring that his business will successfully meet the challenge.

“Craig’s enthusiasm was clear from the outset and his genuine passion for helping people in the sector and the general public will play a key role in building his brand’s reputation”.

Richard Bearman, Managing Director at Start Up Loans, said: “Start Up Loans exists to help aspiring businesses owners and early-stage businesses to get access to the finance and support they need to thrive and so I’m delighted that Start Up Loans has been able to support Craig Eddy and play a part in the success of Rapid Fire Logistics”.
